To close Office application after you open it, you must use this method:

System.Runtime.InteropServices.Marshal.ReleaseComObject

Yesterday I prepare my session dedicated to Business Intelligence with SQL Server 2005 Enterprise, Excel 2007 and Dundas Components (very great components http://www.dundas.com) for SB2Dev event (http://www.sb2dev.it).

I search to create an application that Use Pivot Table (Excel 2007) to drill down the information (take from SQL Server 2005) and an ASP.NET page that uses Dundas Enterprise components to visualize the information. If you are curious, the next week I put a preview of this application.
